The 2019 Partners for Progress Conference was held at the Holiday Inn in Truro on November 28-29. Over 154 people registered and attended the conference, representing REN staff, REN Directors and members of the Liaison Oversight Committees, Businesses, Municipal Representatives and Service Providers from across Nova Scotia.

The event provided an opportunity for Nova Scotia RENs to meet and discuss innovative approaches to regional business development. Partners for Progress was a valuable connector opportunity to help us showcase the vitality of our network.

  • On the afternoon of November 27, REN staff met to share best practices on a variety of business development topics, including new project highlights, Customer Relationship Management Tools and BusinessNOW best practices. That evening, the P4P Welcome Reception provided an opportunity for REN staff and our community and business partners to meet and catch up on the past year of activity.
  • On November 28, Nova Scotia’s 7 RENs provided updates on their activity, we collaborated with the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration to host a panel on business success with attraction and retention of newcomer workers, and we held an open discussion on various business development topics. Through collaboration with the NSOI, we also ran a concurrent business information session for local businesses. It was attended by 34 businesses.
